ImagineIF Libraries attract crowds during special opening week
The new ImagineIF Libraries, formerly the Flathead County Library System, kicked off the new brand during the week of Jan. 13 with crowds visiting libraries and attending events.
Between Jan. 13 and 18, more than 8,400 people visited ImagineIF Libraries, a 33 percent increase from the same week in 2013.
The number of visitors was especially high in Kalispell and Columbia Falls. Columbia Falls had a 60 percent increase in visitors.
More than 12,600 books and other items were checked out from ImagineIF Libraries, a 15 percent increase compared to the same week in 2013.
According to a news release, community support for the new ImagineIF has been positive, especially for the removal of late fines.
During launch week, the live music, photo booth and other events were popular.
ImagineIF Libraries welcome community members to visit, get new library cards and explore all that is available, including books and movies, downloadable and streaming entertainment, do-it-yourself projects and programs for all ages.
