Driver has it in for ducks

Kalispell Police got a report Sunday about a purple Toyota pickup being driven by a young male through a group of ducks in Woodland Park, killing about 20 of them.

There was a report of a vehicle being driven into a house on Empire Loop.

A woman calling from Fifth Avenue East reported that her soon-to-be-ex-husband slapped their 12-year-old daughter in the face and forced her face into a pillow. 

A man calling from U.S. 93 South reported that a handgun was stolen from his pickup truck.

A woman calling from Greatview Drive said that her ex-boyfriend broke into her house and when she arrived he had a handgun and threatened to shoot her shoot her. The suspect soon after left the residence.

After a head-on collision on West Idaho and North Meridian Road at about 9 p.m., the reporting party claimed the other driver was drunk. The other driver was soon after arrested for drunk driving and possibly other charges.

An officer ended up in a foot chase with a girl who had been in a fight with another girl at a location on U.S. 93 South.

There was a report of a male wearing all black attempting to get into cars on East California Street. When he was spotted by a neighbor, he ran off.

Early Monday, at about 2:30 a.m., there was a report of a drunk and unruly man in front of a bar on Airport Road. The man attempted to drive away, but the bar staff wouldn’t allow it.

There was a report of a van being stolen from a location on Two Mile Drive.

 

A man calling the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office from Shelter Valley Drive Sunday reported that someone loosened the lug nuts on his vehicle’s wheels sometime overnight. He believed the culprit was a person whom he had a disagreement with recently.

Someone calling from a business on U.S. 93 south of Whitefish reported that a woman had written $800 worth of bad checks.

A woman calling from Electric Avenue in Bigfork requested assistance in getting her intoxicated mother removed from her home. The mother was scheduled to get on a train for North Dakota in a couple days, but the daughter couldn’t wait that long.

A woman calling from Rocky Woods Lane in the Bigfork area said that someone has been getting into her vehicle lately, taking small amounts of money each time.

After a traffic stop at Rose Crossing near U.S. 2, a man was cited for driving with a suspended license and not having insurance, fourth offense.

A woman called from Ashley Lake Road to report that she was being harassed and threatened by a man through texts and calls. The woman, who was armed with a pistol, was afraid he was going to come over.

 Whitefish Police arrested a man after a traffic stop on Baker Avenue Sunday morning. It wasn’t clear what offense was involved.

An employee at a motel on U.S. 93 South reported that a highly intoxicated man entered the building and then walked off. The reporting party was concerned he would become a traffic hazard.

Someone drove away from a convenience store on West 13th Street without paying for $30 in gas.

At about 8:40 p.m., an employee at a U.S. 93 South casino reported that there was a man wearing a Broncos hat was passed out at a keno machine. The Broncos had just lost the Super Bowl, and the man got a ride home.

Early Monday, at about 12:47 a.m., a man calling from Central Avenue reported that while his girlfriend was at a nearby bar, a man punched her in the face.

 Columbia Falls Police got a report from Fourth Avenue West Sunday regarding a wallet being stolen vehicle sometime over the weekend.
