Robert 'Bob' J. Beck, 87
Robert “Bob” J. Beck died peacefully surrounded by family at his home in Columbia Falls Sunday evening.
Bob was born March 16, 1926, in Kalispell to Harry and Jeanette Beck.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; siblings; and infant son, Bobby.
He is survived by his wife of 64 and a half years, Joan; sons, Roger and Kathy, and Gordy and Patti; and daughter, Lorraine and Bert Riley. Bob also has seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, who all loved him immensely.
As a lifetime resident of the Flathead Valley, Bob had many great friendships. He graduated from Flathead High School in 1944, and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Bob was a contract painter, and designed, painted and erected signs for many Flathead businesses. He also found pleasure in restoring and selling cars. He was a man devoted to the outdoors; fishing, hunting, camping and all family activities.
A visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 7 at the United Methodist Church in Columbia Falls. The funeral service for Bob will follow at 11 a.m. A luncheon will immediately follow at the church for friends and family to join. The family will reconvene at 3 p.m. at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
