Man calls police about his hovercraft
The Kalispell Police Department received a pair of calls from a drunk and rambling Two Mile Drive man and dealt with several other people who had enjoyed a little too much alcohol.
The Two Mile Drive man wanted to let dispatchers know that earthquakes and drought are major emergencies, that power lines are dangerous, and that no one needed to respond to his home unless they had federal tags for a bicycle. He called back again later saying “this is like the CIA” and that he is working on a hovercraft before saying “praise the lord” and hanging up. When a dispatcher called back and asked if he needed responders he just laughed and said he only called to tell them about his hovercraft.
A woman tried to give money to a drunk panhandler, but he decided he wanted everything and tried to take her purse.
Officers were unable to locate a drunk man who was reported harassing customers at a U.S. 2 West restaurant, yelling and screaming.
A woman was arrested for drunk driving after being reported for getting her vehicle stuck in the snow behind a South Main Street restaurant and acting very weird.
An Empire Loop resident reported truck tracks in the snow that stopped 10 feet from the resident’s house as well as all over the neighbor’s lawn.
An employee at a Fifth Avenue East towing business reported a bag of drugs were found in a vehicle at a Fifth Avenue East North tow yard, but that it might also just be candy.
A stolen elk rack was recovered on Eighth Avenue West and returned to its owner.
The Whitefish Police Department received a report from a U.S. 93 South gas station that a young boy keeps coming in saying he is doing a school project and that he needs a picture of money, the time lock and the cash register, also saying his dad keeps sending him in.
A drunk man called for help breaking into his Arielle Way home as he and two other men were outside in the cold and concerned for their safety. It was found they did not live at the home and they were instead dropped off at a hotel.
A woman reported a hammered man at a Central Avenue bar punched her, but that the bartender “wanted to keep it under wraps” and didn’t take down any of the suspect’s information.
An officer made at least one arrest after four men were reported standing near a laundromat smoking drugs.
A Columbia Falls Police Department officer responded to First Avenue West after a resident complained that people were double-parked and blocking the resident’s vehicles. The officer reported there were actually people sitting in the vehicles, but that the resident would not approach them without cursing at them.
A surprised but jovial woman told a dispatcher, laughing, “Oh my god, I’m so sorry, I was trying to redial my husband, I’m so sorry,” when the dispatcher called her back when she hung up immediately after calling 911.
