Paul Berrett, 80

Paul Berrett, 80, passed away Feb. 3, 2014, at his residence in Columbia Heights surrounded by family.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Loretta Berrett; son and daughter-in-law, John and Dana Berrett; daughter and son-in-law, Darnell and Tom Joy; and three grandchildren, Garrett, Emily and Amanda.

Paul grew up in Ogden, Utah and served on a destroyer group as a petty officer in the Navy during the Korean War.

After his service in the Navy, he worked as an ironworker for 21 years, and moved with his family around the Western United States before settling in the Flathead to work on the Rexford bridge construction in 1967.

He became a Mason in Butte in 1964, and was an active member of the organization along with his family. He enjoyed a quiet retirement in Columbia Heights and loved to garden, watch boxing and spend time with his grandchildren.

In lieu of services, Paul's family encourages that remembrances be made in the form of a donation to the American Cancer Society.
