Man lets the coffee do the talking
A man who was banned from the property of a U.S. 93 South coffee shop was the subject of one call to the Kalispell Police Department before he then called 911 himself three times to complain about what had happened. A coffee shop employee called first to ask that the man be removed due to sitting in the store all day, turning up the volume (possibly to the television) and then getting angry when the staff approached him. The regional manager had already asked the employee to have police have him leave and not return.
The man later made his 911 calls stating that he was assaulted while being kicked out, claiming excessive force was used (but denying being injured), and finally that he didn’t think it was right.
A security officer at the hospital reported a man who was on drugs and hallucinating drove away while cussing and yelling at him. The man was originally in the emergency room for medical issues related to methamphetamine use. An officer found the man at the pharmacy and took his keys, but the man left. He was subsequently banned from the hospital property with the exception of the emergency room.
A miffed man reported that he and another man had exchanged vehicles to drive around for a few hours to see if they wanted to exchange the vehicles permanently, but now he couldn’t get in touch with the other man.
A man reported sitting in his running vehicle in a U.S. 93 South parking lot for nearly three hours was found to be sleeping. He said he was home visiting his parents but didn’t want to wake them up.
A backpack, a coat, a sleeping bag, and prescription medication were stolen from a vehicle on Fourth Avenue West.
Two sets of backcountry skis were stolen from an unlocked vehicle on North Main Street.
A stop sign was knocked down by a motorist on Hutton Ranch Road.
A man pushing a bicycle on East Idaho Street was struck by a vehicle.
A man reported his friend took his tablet computer and drove off.
A man was arrested by a Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputy after getting into a fight with a woman on East Cottonwood Drive. Both had been drinking, and the woman called 911, screaming “please help me.” The man has a history of physical assault against the woman, has non-extraditable warrants out of two other states and warnings for being armed and dangerous.
A Jellison Road woman reported her ex-boyfriend tried to break down her door before leaving. He had stopped by to get some of his things and apparently became upset over who she had been having over to her house.
A drunk man wearing a black cowboy hat was reported by a Trumble Creek Road resident after knocking on the door. The resident said the man left on foot and jumped into a ditch to hide when a vehicle drove by.
A man shoveling snow on Third Avenue West North reported a pair of men in a pickup truck tried to hit him, and that you could see the tire tracks swerving toward him in the snow.
A pair of girls approximately 10 years old were reported walking along the highway. Each was picked up by an officer, with one released to her mother, who was counseled.
A Ridgewood Drive resident reported a woman in a nearby trailer has a snake that hasn’t eaten in a very long time and a husband who kicks their dogs.
A Shady Lane girl called with questions about her 16-year-old friend who she thought might be getting stalked by an adult who had been giving her gifts.
A disabled East Fourth Street man reported to the Whitefish Police Department that he had some pipes burst and that he has a restraining order against a maintenance man at the property, but that was the man who responded. He said the man also threatened to bill him for the damage.
An officer checked on a man in his vehicle on East 13th Street and found him to be a janitor eating his dinner before going inside to clean.
