Marguriete 'Margie' T. Campbell, 76
Marguriete T. (Margie) Campbell, 76, “left this world” Feb. 8, 2014, “into the arms of our beloved Savior.”
She was born Marguriete Tomasine Sapp in Dillon on Feb. 28, 1937.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who always put her family first. Margie was also devoted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her family moved to Anaconda in her youth where her father worked at the smelter. She graduated from Anaconda High School in 1955. She was very active in school functions including head majorette. She married Raymond Bersanti after high school. Four children blessed this union.
Her first job was a radio host for KANA in Anaconda, where she was the first female radio announcer. Margie and Raymond divorced in 1965, but always remained friends. In 1968, she moved her family to Whitefish. In 1975, they moved back to Anaconda. Margie was co-founder of A.W.A.R.E. Inc. in 1975, and worked with the developmentally disabled for the next 15 years.
She was married in the temple in 1985 to Benajia Campbell. She and her husband lived in the Flathead Valley. Margie loved music and song writing. Most of all, she loved doing genealogy with the ladies from the Relief Society.
Margie was preceded in death by her son, Raymond Bersanti Jr.; four brothers; parents, Howard and Magaret Sapp; granddaughter, Candie Rose and husband, “Gentle Ben” Campbell.
She is survived by her son, Steven Bersanti of Kalispell; daughters, Teddi Parsons of Kalispell and Ramona Siders of Conrad; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from noon until 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 17 at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home. Interment will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at Sunset Cemetery in Butte.
