How am I offended? Let me count the ways
Well, the anti-religious are still at it! They are still offended by the statue of Jesus and of course the Ten Commandants. Imagine if (there is that term again) our country did not have the principals laid out in the commandants (although its rapidly turning against them).
If they are offended, well then, as my granny used to say, that’s just tough tahootie. Put on your big boy pants. There is no end to what offends me. The Freedom from Religion organization is one, for sure.
I have as much right to look at the statue as they have the right not to. I am also offended when they have a gay pride march down Main Street. I have never heard a logical explanation of how homosexuality is normal. I am offended that they kill babies in the womb. I am offended that we have a president that has lied to us since he raised his hand to take the oath of office.
I am offended that our elected officials use our taxes as a slush fund to enrich themselves. I am offended that while the president at the cost to the taxpayers of a half million dollars feeds his friends caviar and rib eye that I can’t afford Sizzler. I am offended that he takes tax dollars to buy people health insurance as good or better than I have and which I pay dearly for, yet they are subsidized to the tune of 85 percent of their premiums.
Yes there is a lot that offends me also, but I manage to live with it. But most of all, what offends me right now is the stupidity with which some Americans find to endorse and defend these things. Thank God I can still be offended out loud, as everyone else can.
