Phyllis L. Savka, 79

Former Roundup resident Phyllis L. Savka passed away Feb. 12, 2014, while surrounded by her family in Utah. 

An avid educator, Mom enjoyed teaching business education, history and political science courses. In August of 1988, she received her master's in education from the University of Montana. 

Mom lived and taught in numerous communities, including Flathead Valley Community College in Kalispell. 

She was extremely proud of her children, her education, agricultural, medical, business and military pursuits and associations. She deeply appreciated people, music and humor. 

While in Roundup, Mom owned and operated the Maverick Bar for 15 years and developed some tremendous friendships. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Leola Ritter; father, Phillip Dalager; husband, John Savka Jr.; and son, Phillip L. Bruyer. 

Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Claire Downing and Kenny of Utah and Lee Graf of California; sons, G. Arnold Bruyer and Carol of Montana, Thomas J. Bruyer of Montana, and Richard E. Bruyer and Terri of Montana; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Cremation has taken place and no funeral services will be held, per her request. Burial will be in the Veterans Section of Sunset Memorial Gardens in Missoula.
