Endangerment leads to five-year sentence
A Kalispell man has been sentenced to five years with the Montana Department of Corrections followed by an additional five years, suspended, for a felony criminal endangerment conviction.
Matthew Heuer, 38, initially was charged with felony assault with a weapon in addition to criminal endangerment for initiating an argument on March 27, 2012, with a man with whom he had been upset.
He then fired a single round from a revolver at the ground between the two.
The assault charge was dismissed as part of a plea agreement, which included the agreed-upon sentence.
The victim in the case testified during the Feb. 13 hearing before District Judge Heidi Ulbricht handed down the sentence.
