A man complained to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that another motorist had been harassing him about a rock that got thrown up from the highway and broke or chipped the motorist’s window, wanting the man to pay to fix the damage. The man was advised he was not liable, and the motorist was told to stop calling him.

A man reported his concern that his grandson was being neglected when he was in the care of his mother, but when a deputy called back, he was found to be so drunk he had forgotten what he called about in the first place. He was told to call back when he was sober.

A man called 911 three times, refusing to give his name or location, wanting to know if a crossbow was considered a firearm. He was given non-emergency numbers, but would not cooperate.

An 18-year-old man assaulted his father on Helena Flats Road, reportedly kicking his father in the face when the man tried to wrestle his credit card away from the son.

A 65-year-old man had to be taken to the emergency room after falling from more than 20 feet in the area of North Fork Road. He was transported in a private vehicle.

Misdirected motorists were reported driving in the opposing lane of traffic on U.S. 93 North and U.S. 2 East.

A woman drove through a fence and into an Auction Road pasture, leaving the vehicle behind when she was picked up by her husband.

A representative from the Canadian consulate in Denver contacted the sheriff’s office about the Calgary oil executive who fell into a tree well at Whitefish Mountain Resort and died Sunday, wanting to know if next of kin had been advised and if any assistance was needed from the Denver office.

The Kalispell Police Department received a pair of reports of vehicles tampered with, first on East California Street where a man saw tracks in the snow going from vehicle to vehicle and the appearance that someone had been checking door handles, and second on First Avenue West North, where footprints also led from vehicle to vehicle for about three blocks.

The mother of a 14-year-old boy reported another boy, 15, had assaulted her son, and not for the first time. The incident was reported to the principal of the Northwest Lane school and was being handled on that end.

An alcoholic with an appetite was reported going through the drive-through of a U.S. 2 West fast-food restaurant with a beer in his hand and a child, unbuckled, in the front seat.

A possible drug deal was reported in the parking lot of a West Idaho Street business, where a passerby saw a pair of men get out of their vehicle and into a woman’s car, then exchange something.

A shopper reported she left her purse at a Hutton Ranch Road store and that it was turned in, but that all her money — more than $80 — was missing.

A homeless man was banned from a Second Avenue West store after he was reported offering a customer heroin in exchange for a ride.

Snow was reported piled up to the point of obscuring the view for traffic at the intersection of West Center Street and Seventh Avenue West.

Drug paraphernalia was found in the belongings of a mental health patient at a Sunny View Lane clinic.

Columbia Falls Police Department officers tracked down a pair of larcenous ladies after their exploits were captured by security cameras. The first was located and arrested after stealing a 30-pack of beer from a Nucleus Avenue store, while the second was located, arrested, cited and released after stealing a hooded sweatshirt.

A salacious senior citizen was reported harassing women outside a Nucleus Avenue grocery store. The man was taken into the office by management, who agreed to give him one more chance but advised him the bad behavior would not be tolerated.

A concerned passerby reported a Sixth Street West library drop box was “incredibly full,” making it possible for someone to reach in and take items out.

A Dakota Avenue resident contacted the Whitefish Police Department to report someone had broken the driver’s side window of the resident’s vehicle, although it did not appear that anything was missing.
