Basketball: Eureka girls outlast Troy
EUREKA — Every Lion on the court scored as Eureka took down Lincoln County rivals Troy 43-41 in a District 7B girls basketball tournament play-in game on Tuesday.
Amanda Peterson had 12 points and Evynn Anderson had nine in the Lions win, leading nine Eureka players to score in the contest. Eureka built a 20-14 lead at halftime but needed to hang on for the victory over the Trojans.
Kellie Lundin had a game-high 24 points for Troy.
Eureka will play at Plains on Thursday in the 7B tournament. Bigfork will host Thompson Falls in the other semifinal.

PLAINS — Kyle Revier had 14 poitns and Ryan Ovitt had 13 to lead Plains past Thompson Falls in a back-and-forth contest for the 7B boys play-in.
The score fluctuated wildly in the first half, Thompson Falls leading by four entering the second quarter, only for Plains to lead by three at half. The Horsemen took over in the fourth quarter, outscoring Thompson Falls by five points to reclaim the lead and keep their season alive.
Plains will play at Bigfork on Thursday in the 7B tournament. Eureka will host Troy in the other semifinal matchup.

FRENCHTOWN — Andrew Weltz had 21 points for Polson, but it wasn’t enough to overtake Frenchtown in a Northwestern A conference boys basketball game.
Weltz and the Pirates hung with Frenchtown in the second half, but a disastrous first two quarters, in which Polson was outscored 33-12, doomed the cause.
Chris McDonald scored 11 for the Pirates and Cedrick Smith had 10.
Bridger Truett had a game-high 28 points to lead Frenchtown. John Chapman had 19 and Chris Delaney had 10 for the Broncs.
Polson will host Whitefish on Saturday for senior night.
