Whitefish boys, Polson girls post Northwestern A wins

POLSON — EJ Havens scored 22 points as Whitefish (10-8 overall, 5-3 Northwestern A) pulled away from Polson (4-14, 2-6) late to win 49-38 in the final Northwestern A conference boys basketball game of the regular season for both teams.

Whitefish led by just five points in the third quarter before catching Polson in a lull, going up double-digits and pulling away for good. The Bulldogs outscored Polson 10-4 in the first quarter and 16-10 after half to build their lead.

Tanner Wilson led the Pirates with 11 points and Cedrick Smith and Andrew Curley each had 10.

The Northwestern A divisional basketball tournament starts Thursday at Glacier High School in Kalispell.

POLSON — Jessica Bagnell scored 12 points and Monika Frame added nine to help Polson drill Whitefish in a Northwestern A contest.

Polson led 14-0 and 26-9 after the first two quarter breaks.

Katie Fyall had six points for Whitefish.

It was the regular-season finale for both teams.

Up next for both schools is the Northwestern A divisional tournament, which begins Thursday at Glacier.
