Youths asked to 'rave quieter'

A slightly suspect Santa Fe Street gathering was reported to the Kalispell Police Department by a person who said the youths were playing loud music from their cars and playing with glow sticks, possibly trying to have a rave. The resident didn’t mind what they were doing, just asked that they “rave quieter.”

An assistant manager of a First Street West business got more than he bargained for when he tried to break up a fight between a pair of customers when he got between the man and the woman, leading the man to turn his anger, and fists, on the manager.

A pair of youths reported hanging from a balcony at a U.S. 93 South hotel ran away when a person called out to them.

A woman reported being stalked by another woman who showed up on First Avenue East and tried to start a fight with her until employees at the property stepped in and blocked the door so she couldn’t get inside.

A group of eight motorists were reported spinning brodies in a First Avenue East parking lot, but were gone by the time an officer arrived.

After the residents of a Ninth Avenue West property were warned several times for loud music, officers were notified to cite them if they had to return.

A pair of parenting issues were reported to the Whitefish Police Department, first on East Second Street, were a man said his ex-wife’s new boyfriend was trying to take his son, then on Wisconsin Avenue, where a man said he was at wrestling practice with his fiancee’s child and the fiancee’s ex showed up and caused a disturbance trying to take the child.

A group of angry men were reported trying to fight bartenders and bouncers in front of a Central Avenue bar. One of the men was reported wearing a sweater with male genitalia drawn on it with a marker.

A man was arrested for drunk driving after getting his vehicle stuck at the entrance to a hotel near Fairway Drive.

A man was reported shaking all the doors to the closed businesses inside a U.S. 93 South mall.

A man called police after dropping off a very drunk man on Wisconsin Avenue.


Columbia Falls Police Department officers responded to a stopped train to arrest a man after he and a woman got into a fight on the train, forcing it to stop.

A tired taxi patron was reported to police by the driver after the drunken fare passed out and wouldn’t wake up.
