Three positions on the Flathead Valley Community College Board of Trustees are up for election on May 6.

Interested candidates have until March 27 to file for candidacy for the three-year terms that end in May 2017.

One position is held by current board President Robert Nystuen for the Flathead and Glacier high school district. Potential candidates must be registered to vote in Flathead County and live in that district to run.

Two other positions, currently held by trustees Tom Harding and John Phelps, are  up for election. These positions represent the Bigfork, Columbia Falls and Whitefish school districts.

To qualify for these two positions, candidates are required to be registered voters of Flathead County and live in Columbia Falls, Bigfork or Whitefish school districts.

The election will run May 6 along with the regular Flathead County school elections.
