Man's disrobing is disturbing

An excessively candid Kelly Road man was reported to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office by his neighbor who said he came outside in a robe — and nothing else — to pick up his newspaper, then watches her from his window while she starts her car, exposing himself to her in the process. She said he had been coming outside for eight months or so, but that his behavior had escalated over the last couple of months to the point that he was now always naked under the robe.

A lovers’ quarrel was reported at a U.S. 2 East home, where a woman said her girlfriend kept hitting her, had punched her in the eye, and was destroying the house. The couple, who decided they did not want to pursue charges against one another, were separated for the evening.

A concerned father reported his ex kept taking their children into a Jellison Lane head shop, and that he didn’t want her taking them in the store because marijuana is grown there.

A Whitetail Meadows Road resident reported suspicious vehicles driving through a nearby field toward a house that had previously been broken into. The vehicles’ occupants were found to be ice skating in the area.

A clerk at a U.S. 2 East business reported a man came in and left behind a bag of marijuana when he departed. It was found to be an honest mistake, as the man had an active medical marijuana card.

The owner of a pair of German shepherds on Old Creek Road was educated on the county dog ordinances after the dogs chased the owner’s neighbor.

Deputies were unable to locate a large logging truck pulling two trailers reported speeding down U.S. 93 toward Somers.

A pickup truck first reported on fire on West Evergreen Drive was found to just be smoking. The occupants had a tow truck on the way.

An errant snow plow driver took out a mailbox and newspaper box on Kalispell Acres Lane.

A man picking up freight on Montana 35 was bitten on the leg by a dog.


A Kalispell Police Department officer responded to a Fifth Avenue West property after a man in his early 20s was threatening people in the kitchen. The man had reportedly been irate for a couple of weeks and has had an attitude ever since he got out of prison.

A protective parent reported a Valentine’s Day date who just couldn’t let go after going out with the parent’s daughter. The boy is now harassing the girl and won’t stop calling the house, threatening to break into the house when told to stop calling.

A Third Avenue West parent asked if police could put the parent’s drunk 26-year-old son in the “drunk tank” since the parent wanted him to leave but was concerned he might not be safe in the cold.

A chagrined shopper reported that her expensive cellphone was stolen after she left it behind in the dressing room of a U.S. 93 South clothing store.


A Whitefish Police Department officer was unable to catch a trio of loose pit bulls with no collars reported running around near the train depot. The caller said the dogs did not seem vicious.


A concerned grandmother contacted the Columbia Falls Police Department to say her daughter was staying at a home with a man and that the pair were doing drugs around her grandchild.

A Talbot Road woman reported her son was getting bullied at school.
