Storm fouls basketball game schedules
Foul weather is creating havoc with basketball schedules.
Storms forced postponement of all games scheduled Friday in Kalispell for the Northwestern A Divisional basketball tournament. Frenchtown was unable to get to the games because of weather problems.
Tournament games now will be played Saturday and Sunday at Glacier High School.
For the semifinal round:
Columbia Falls boys play Polson at 3 p.m. Saturday; Columbia Falls girls play Polson at 4:30 p.m.; Libby girls play Frenchtown at 6 p.m.; and Whitefish boys play Frenchtown at 7:30 p.m.
The Montana High School Association gave special permission for tournament games to be played on Sunday.
Whitefish girls are scheduled to play at 9 a.m. and Libby boys at 10:30 a.m. Sunday in loser-out games against opponents to be determined by Saturday games.
Other games on Sunday will be:
3 p.m.: Girls consolation.
4:30 p.m.: Boys consolation.
6:00 p.m.: Girls championship.
7:30 p.m.: Boys championship.
In Class AA regular-season play, basketball games scheduled Thursday between Flathead and Hellgate high schools have been moved to Monday at 5 p.m.
The Flathead Braves will travel to Missoula while the Bravettes host Hellgate at the Flathead gym.
Games involving nearly all Class AA teams in the state were postponed from Friday and Saturday to Monday and Tuesday, with the exception of Friday’s crosstown game between Glacier and Flathead at Flathead High School.
At the college level, Frontier Conference officials say the men’s playoff games will be played Friday night, but Great Falls’ women’s game at Montana Western and Carroll’s game at Montana State-Northern have been moved from Saturday to Monday.
The Harlem Globetrotters game at the University of Montana is scheduled to be played Friday night.
