Basketball: Bigfork sweeps Whitefish
WHITEFISH — The Bigfork boys controlled the tempo from start to finish, beating Whitefish 50-38 in a nonconference basketball game on Thursday night.
Christian Evans scored 17 points to lead the Vikings (5-0) in a game that was never out of their control. Bigfork led by six after the first quarter and by 10 after the third.
Whitefish (2-4), which got 12 points from EJ Havens and 10 from Keaton Nicholson, kept the score close late thanks to a barrage of 3-pointers but was unable to rein in the athletic Vikings.
Whitefish will host Frenchtown on Saturday. Bigfork plays a girls-boys doubleheader at St. Ignatius on Saturday.

WHITEFISH — The Bigfork girls overwhelmed Whitefish in a nonconference clash, allowing just five points in the second half.
Tessa Robertson led the Valkyries (4-1) with 12 points, beating the Bulldogs (0-6) in the paint to help lead Bigfork to the win. Leading 22-10 after two quarters, Bigfork outscored Whitefish 25-5 to close out the game with ease. Eight Vals scored in the contest.
Katie Fyall led the Bulldogs with five points. Allie Schulz and Simone Craft each had four.
