Dave K. Hanson, 59
Dave Hanson, 59, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, died Jan. 1, 2014, of colon cancer. He was born Aug. 19, 1954, in Missoula to Harold and Janette Hanson.
A 1972 graduate of Sentinel High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served as an aircraft maintenance technician for four years. Dave married his high school sweetheart Gloria in 1973. They have been married for 40 years. After honorable discharge they moved back to Missoula.
He worked for Tom Sherry Tire, which led to a position at Northwestern Tire in Kalispell. He established Total Tire, a mobile tire repair service, then worked as service manager at Montana Bell RV. In 1999 he opened another small business, Full Time RV, which he sold 12 years later and began working for Carefree Distributing in Mesa, Ariz., in 2011.
When Dave wasn’t working, he loved fishing on the waters of Northwest Montana, usually with his grandson Avery. He was most content when combining his three passions of fishing, golfing and camping.
Dave spent 25 years as an elder at Faith Covenant Church. He had a desire to know God’s word and was involved with Bible Study Fellowship as a member and leader. He knew the grace of God and how God had changed him.
