Bonnie Jean Sanders, 54

| January 6, 2014 10:00 PM

Bonnie Jean Sanders, 54, passed away after a lengthy illness on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at her home in Village Greens. She was surrounded by family and friends.

Bonnie was born on Jan. 3, 1959, in Glendive to Theophil “Ted” and Barbara (Hanson) Bonnet. Bonnie received her early education in Glendive and attended Dawson County High School.

She met Robert “Bob” Sanders in Glendive while he worked as a Navy recruiter. They were married on Nov. 22, 1980, in Woodstock, Conn., in a skydiving ceremony. Bonnie became a loving mother to Bob’s sons, Scott, 10 and Mark, 6.

After a short stay in Connecticut, Bob and Bonnie transferred to California and lived there until Bob’s retirement from the Navy in 1986. Following retirement they returned to their home state of Montana and lived in Lolo. In 1996 they moved to Lakeside and in 2002 they moved to Village Greens Golf Course in Kalispell, where they have since resided.

Bonnie loved all that the outdoors had to offer, including hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and camping. Her passion became golf when she joined the ladies golf league. She spent many enjoyable hours on the course and with her friends at Village Greens Golf Course.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Wendell Bonnet.

She is survived by husband, Bob Sanders, of Kalispell; son Scott of Antioch, Calif., and son Mark and his wife, Kimberly, of Long Beach, Calif.; sisters, Carol Bryan-Bonnet of Billings, Sharon Micklewright of Kalispell, Mashal Knoll of Glendive and Montana Sue Galland of Missoula; numerous nieces and nephews throughout Montana; and her godmother, Carol Webb, of Kalispell. Bonnie’s loving cat, Simone, was faithfully by her side through it all.

Bonnie’s smile and infectious laugh always made those around her happy.

Memorial services for Bonnie will be held later in the spring.
