Laura Eileen Longhart, 98
Laura Eileen Longhart, 98, passed away Jan. 7, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Skilled Care Center.
Laura was born Sept. 13, 1915, in Chicago, the only child of John and Louise Paton. She enjoyed a happy childhood and loved playing pranks, usually at the expense of her parents.
Laura graduated from the University of Illinois and worked as a court reporter for the District Court of Illinois, a job she dearly loved.
In 1947, Laura met and married Clyde Longhart and they lived many happy years in Arvada, Colo.
Laura moved to Montana in January 2012 to be near her only living relative, nephew, Fred Longhart, and his “special friend,” Marjory McClaren. She was a favorite at Immanuel Lutheran; known for her daily “spins” with Fred and Marjory. She had the ability to make others laugh with her witty and feisty sense of humor.
Laura was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
She is survived by Fred, Marjory and her dear friend, Marj Hart of Arvada.
At Laura's request, no services are planned.
Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the family.
