Divers needed for Browning mission
A Glacier County tow company contacted the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to request divers to help recover a vehicle that fell through the ice on Mission Lake near Browning and was now sitting about 20 feet underwater. No one was inside the vehicle when it sank.
A ruffled Reservoir Road resident reported the neighbors were shooting guns irresponsibly, and that bullets were landing around the resident’s mother — believed to be the result of carelessness, not any ill intent. The resident went on to claim the neighbors borrowed a pistol and rifle from the resident and never returned them.
A package delivery person who was concerned a Beaver Lake Road home had been broken into was told damage to the home’s door and doorjamb were caused by medics that had to break down the door earlier that day to get to a patient.
A report of a boyfriend kicking in a door at his girlfriend’s Sunset Drive home and refusing to leave turned out to be a small disagreement, with the door kicking only occurring because the door was jammed. The boyfriend said if they argued again he would leave and a law enforcement response would not be necessary.
The manager of a Ninth Street West business near Columbia Falls reported a shower curtain and rubber gloves with blood on them were found in the business’ dumpster, and the manager did not believe the items were placed there by an employee.
An upset Hungry Horse resident on Canyon Road reported a man outside the home spinning brodies on an all-terrain vehicle — which he nearly wrecked in the driveway — while yelling and cussing at the resident.
A U.S. 93 South man contacted the Kalispell Police Department to report an unknown man — who kept harassing him and had called him last night threatening to hunt him down and break his jaw — was now standing outside his door and trying to climb in his window.
A drunk man was sent on his way by an officer after it was reported that he was bothering customers outside an East Idaho Street business, flipping them off when they refused to give him a ride.
An officer stopped to check on a drunk man and woman who were falling down on First Avenue West and confirmed they had made arrangements to be picked up.
A military dress uniform with all the awards on it belonging to a Vietnam veteran was stolen from a Second Street East property.
A Second Street West resident reported someone got into her unlocked vehicle and stole her backpack. Other vehicles were burglarized on Mountain Park Lane, Bruyer Way and Buffalo Stage Road.
A Fourth Avenue East resident reported a “dingo” had been running in the neighborhood all day.
A girl was arrested on Wolfpack Way and transported to the Flathead County Juvenile Detention Center.
Officers made an arrest after a fight between youths on Woodland Park Drive.

The owner of an East Second Street business contacted the Whitefish Police Department after someone stole $100 in cash meant to be the Christmas bonus for an employee from an envelope. The owner suspected another employee and wanted the envelope dusted for fingerprints.
A pair of Somers Avenue women were counseled after one reported her neighbor kept harassing her and causing problems for her, and was at that moment repeatedly walking past her vehicle with a shovel and laughing loudly at her.
A motorist was arrested following a non-injury collision on a side street off of U.S. 93 South. She was later released after being advised of her warrant and a notice to appear in court.
Officers placed 24-hour warning stickers on 10 vehicles parked on East Fourth Street, Columbia Avenue, Kalispell Avenue, East Fifth Street and East Third Street that needed to be moved.

A man was arrested for drunk driving by a Columbia Falls Police Department officer and eventually turned over to his sober girlfriend after he was reported being abusive in a Ninth Street West bar, telling an employee he was going to grab a gun and kill her before waiting in the parking lot for her.
Officers issued four citations and five warnings during traffic stops on 13th Street West, U.S. 2 East, U.S. 2 West, Ninth Street West, Fourth Avenue West and Sixth Avenue West between 8:16 a.m. and 5:01 p.m. Wednesday.
