Braves swim to 2nd in Missoula

MISSOULA — The Flathead boys finished second and the girls third at the Missoula Swim Meet on Saturday at Grizzly Pool on the campus of the University of Montana.

The Braves had Ethan Timm finish fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke, Jacob Lane fifth in 200 individual medley and David Sitagata fifth in the 200 freestyle in addition to fifth place showings in the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay.

The Bravettes’ McKenzie Lane and Maggie Mulcahy finished in fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 200 freestyle and Sara Jensen was fifth in the 100 breaststroke.

Glacier’s Nate Burnham finished fourth in the 500 freestyle, also placing third in the 200 IM as the Glacier boys placed fourth as a team. Jake Cirincione finished second in the 200 freestyle and third in the 100 butterfly. Tommy Briner was fourth in the 100 breaststroke. The Wolfpack finished third in 400 freestyle relay and fourth in the 200 freestyle relay, swimming without one of their regulars in Josh Loyda, who missed the meet with an illness.

Emma Hornby was fifth in the 200 IM and anchored a fourth place finish in the 400 freestyle relay for the Wolfpack girls, who finished fifth as a team. The Bigfork girls were sixth and didn’t have a top finisher.
