Frances Anderson, 87

| January 14, 2014 7:42 PM

Frances Anderson “was granted her angel wings” on Jan. 11, 2014. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends who Frances had touched in her very memorable life.

Frances was born on Sept. 24, 1926, in Bemidji, Minn., to Herman and Mary Klasen. She was raised on the family farm in Puposky, Minn., amongst six brothers and eight sisters.

On April 9, 1945, Frances married Hugo Anderson in Longview, Texas. The couple moved to the Olney area in 1952 where they made their forever home and raised seven beautiful children.

Frances loved the outdoors. She spent her time hunting, fishing and trapping, and passing these traditions on to her children and grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to grab a pole and throw her line in the water. She also enjoyed gardening and had an enormous vegetable garden every year, and was very protective of her bountiful raspberry bushes.

Frances enjoyed spending time with her large family and numerous friends. She loved to play cards, put together puzzles and crochet beautiful blankets.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; six sisters; her husband, Hugo; her son, Larry; and a grandson, Michael.

She is survived by siblings, Pauline Huewe of Minnesota, Clara Glass of Texas and Donald Klasen of Arkansas; children, Ron and Patsy Anderson of Chinook, Gary Anderson of Columbia Falls, Martha Workman of Kalispell, Hugo and Patty Anderson of Cut Bank, Christine and Jerry Schwegel of Kalispell, and Robert and Cathy Anderson of Fairfield; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Whitefish. A reception will follow at the fire hall in Olney.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Olney Volunteer Fire Department.
