Man wakes up in time to douse fire

A Cynthia Drive man managed to put out a small fire beneath his mobile home before Evergreen Fire Rescue responders arrived early Tuesday morning. The man was awoken at about 4:30 a.m. by the smell of smoke before locating the fire and putting it out with a pitcher of water. The fire was caused by an electrical issue.


A better-safe-than-sorry Southside Drive man contacted the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office after seeing a red laser dot on his chest when he looked out the window. Fearing that someone was targeting a gun at him, he got on the floor with his young child until deputies responded. The officers were unable to locate the source of the laser.

A wary Whalebone Drive woman reported a man called and threatened to burn her house down, also saying he had been watching her house along with the people going in and out, and that “they all look the same through a scope.”

A Jellison Road resident who complained about a neighbor playing music very loud on a regular basis was told there is no county noise ordinance, but advised to call back if the noise continued during an unreasonable hour.

A 14-year-old boy on Panoramic Drive was transported to the Flathead County Juvenile Detention Center after slapping his younger brother, leading his parent to report an inability to control the boy.

A leery Lone Coyote Trail resident reported someone in a small pickup with a loud exhaust pulled up behind the property, ripped down a “no hunting” sign, fired two shots into the air and left.

A very drunk and agitated man avoided incarceration on a disorderly conduct charge following an incident at a Central Avenue bar in Martin City due to the jail being well populated at this time.

Someone broke into a shed behind a First Avenue North bar in Martin City and stole a vacuum and other tools.

An extremely drunk man was reported harassing customers outside a U.S. 2 East store, asking them for money.

A protective parent reported that an unknown male kept calling his 14-year-old daughter.

An expensive, stone pillar mailbox was knocked down on Levi Court in Bigfork.

A loud gunshot was reported in the area of Solberg Drive.


A grateful man stopped by the Kalispell Police Department to give a personal thank-you to a pair of officers who performed CPR on him last Thursday.

A Lupine Drive man reported he was going through a divorce and that his ex-wife took his checks and wrote out a check to herself.

A Seventh Avenue East resident called with questions about neighbors smoking marijuana and then driving their vehicles.

A Whitefish Police Department officer warned a drunk man not to go back inside a Central Avenue business after he was reported talking to several teenagers and offering to buy them alcohol at the bar next door before walking out with them.

A man drew police attention when he was reported standing in the courtyard of a Lupfer Avenue apartment building screaming at a woman. He was told to go inside and that he would be arrested if police were called again.

An observant passerby reported a mailbox behind a Baker Avenue post office was too full, making it possible to reach in the flap and remove mail.

A man was cited and released after turning himself in on a warrant.

A vandal damaged a window on a South Meadows Drive home.
