Non-patrons asked to leave business

A man and woman were told not to return to a U.S. 2 East restaurant after a restaurant employee contacted the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report that they kept coming in to use the bathroom and payphone then refusing to leave, just standing around and making the closing staff nervous. They were also told to make arrangements to have their vehicle — which they were living in — repaired.

A manic man was reported after running into a U.S. 2 East property looking like he was being chased, asking for a ride, then running across the highway to a car dealership after being denied. A person at the car dealership said the man was running, but didn’t seem to be in distress.

A transient was reported living in a childrens’ bus stop shelter on Blacktail Road in Lakeside, with his belongings stashed behind the decorative snowmen.

A miffed man reported his ex-wife was trying to pick up their children from school in violation of their parenting plan.

A Whitefish Trail man complained that a neighbor’s dog kept getting into his garbage.


A concerned motorist contacted the Kalispell Police Department after seeing a man driving a pickup truck with a block of firewood stuck to the front underneath the driver’s side tire on West Idaho Street. The motorist was worried that if the man tried to turn, he might cause a wreck. An officer was unable to locate the man.

A man was arrested for drunk driving after he was reported slurring his words and being wobbly on his feet after hitting another vehicle in a West Idaho Street parking lot.

A 911 dispatcher was greeted by the sound of a baby giggling when a North Belmar Drive man pocket-dialed the emergency number while playing with his infant son.

A Greatview Drive woman’s dog was taken by the county after she reported it attacked and killed her other dog and she didn’t want it anymore.

A report of a loud party with people in the street yelling on West Arizona Street turned out to just be a few loud people who agreed to keep it down.

A man with an Australian accent was reported to the Whitefish Police Department for threatening another man, saying he was going to “strike you and take you out.” It was found to have occurred during an argument at a Central Avenue bar, and that the aggressive Aussie left after the argument de-escalated.

A drunk man was dropped off at a lodge after he was kicked out of a bar and reported being very rude, not being able to walk or stand up and having forgotten where he left all his belongings.

Officers were unable to locate a man reported slumped on the sidewalk in front of a U.S. 93 South fast-food restaurant.

A motorist was arrested for drunk driving during a traffic stop on Wisconsin Avenue.


A Columbia Falls Police Department gave a student a ride home after an uncooperative caller reported the student was being violent. Further investigation determined that the boy had threatened to hurt the bus driver and burn the school down.

An unknown motorist struck a street department fence on Ninth Avenue West.

Several checks were stolen from a Seventh Street West property.
