Firefighters with the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation would like to remind folks around the Flathead Valley that the debris burning season ended June 30.

No burning is permitted in July, August, and September due to the increase in fire danger.

Open burning will resume in October as conditions allow. If you did not have a chance to burn your yard debris this season, wait until fall, since firefighters will respond to reports of illegal debris burning.

If you have any questions, call the fire prevention specialist for the Kalispell Unit of the Montana DNRC at 751-2270.
