Sapa-Johnsrud tourney starts Thursday
The 2014 Sapa-Johnsrud Memorial Baseball Tournament kicks off today at Memorial Field in Whitefish with a five-team field.
The host Glacier Twins will make their tournament debut at 5 p.m. against the Calgary Redbirds before playing the Spokane Cannons at 7:30 p.m.
The Cannons will play the Lethbridge Elks in the opening game of the tournament at 2:30 p.m.
Each team will play three games, save the Twins who will play in four contests. Once seeded, tournament play begins on Saturday with championship baseball finishing up on Sunday.
Saturday, the third day of the tournament features a coach-pitch All-Star game at 7:30 p.m. Each team will select six players to represent them in the game.
The championship game is scheduled for noon on Sunday.
