Hang up phone or be arrested

A woman called Columbia Falls Police saying she had an IRS agent on the phone telling her that she would be arrested within 45 minutes if she didn’t answer her questions. The woman said that she had spoken to two men on the phone already who were very rude and sounded like they had foreign accents. The woman was advised to hang up on them, or ask for their names, their supervisor’s names, and contact numbers.

The Kalispell Police Department assisted fire and medical on Thursday when a burn pile got out of control on Schoolhouse Loop.

A concerned citizen was worried about juveniles digging through the belongings of a transient woman, who was apparently camping out near Northern Lights Boulevard. The caller believed there was drug paraphernalia there and didn’t want the juveniles to get their hands on it.

A woman’s ex-fiance reportedly stole her vehicle Wednesday from Darlington Drive.

A male customer refused to leave a location on U.S. 93 South and threatened to shoot another customer when he was asked to leave.

A report was made about a possible drug deal going down near Seventh Avenue East. The caller said that a car pulled up, a woman approached the car and said, “You’re a good customer, keep coming back,” and then reportedly reached into her shirt, pulled something out and handed it to the male, who then gave her money. The caller said it’s an ongoing issue.

A person arrived at his or her home on Farview Drive to find the doors wide open — the third time this has happened this month. No one was found inside and nothing had been stolen.

An ex-employee had reportedly fallen off the wagon and has been breaking into the restaurant he used to work at, as well as one of the cooks’ homes.

Someone had cut a fence into a storage yard and stole several batteries at a location on United Drive.

A man had an unpleasant homecoming early Thursday morning when he arrived at his home on East Reserve Drive. His motorhome and shed had been burglarized, according to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.

A man’s ex-girlfriend interrupted an evening at the park by approaching her, the man and his new girlfriend, and threatening to slit her throat.

An unfounded report was taken of a water and sewer truck apparently dumping something into the water under a bridge near Conrad Drive.

Trespassing was reported on Birch Grove Road. The reporting party said he had this problem before and put up a no trespassing sign and locked the property. However, the next morning the lock was broken.

A second report of swindlers was taken on Shady Lane. The suspects are an older male with three younger kids who go door-to-door and ask people for money, saying their grandmother has cancer and they need it for her care.

A woman was seen crumpled up in the fetal position on the walking path on U.S. 93 South. Officers approached the party, and the woman was suffering from a seizure. She refused medical assistance and was escorted home by her husband.

A woman was reported texting and driving while speeding Thursday on Terry Road.

A woman called saying she had sent her husband’s ashes to a person in Minnesota about five years ago, and the Minnesotan now refuses to send them back.

A man calling from Harmony Road said he wanted to kill a dog that is repeatedly running at large and challenging people in the neighborhood.

The Whitefish Police Department took a report of criminal mischief Thursday on Central Avenue, where someone had tagged the building, writing on the walls and mirrors in the bathroom.

A bank employee contacted law enforcement Thursday on behalf of a customer regarding fraud that apparently occurred in Mexico.

Police were notified about two speedsters on green dirt bikes riding on the walking trail near Arielle Way on Thursday evening.
