Woman has to pay to get 'free' stuff

Columbia Falls Police responded after a woman received a phone call from someone saying he was with the federal government and that she had won a bunch of money and a car. However, he told her she had to give a lot of money to him before she could claim her prizes. 

A 6-foot tall abstract metal bird was stolen from Second Avenue EN on Sunday night. 

A fight was reported on Ninth Street West, resulting in a couple of bloody people behind a bar. 

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a man driving a newer light brown pickup trying to lure two young girls into the vehicle on U.S. 93 S. on Wednesday. The caller was advised to keep an eye out and take the license plate number of the truck if they see him again. 

A man who was sleeping on the Bigfork Chamber of Commerce steps was told to move along on Monday. 

A motorcyclist was seen riding with his dog next to him on Farm to Market Road. The caller was worried the dog might die of heat exhaustion. 

A fight broke out in the Flathead County Jail on Sunday afternoon. 

A man caused a dramatic disturbance at his mother’s home during an argument when he kicked a truck, making a huge dent in it, and possibly hurt himself after banging his head against the wall Sunday in Kalispell. 

A man called from a location on Montana 35 saying that his girlfriend was trying to do drugs. The girlfriend could be heard yelling, “No, I’m not,” in the background. 

An older male in the park with his shirt off gave off some bad vibes Sunday, especially after he went up to the caller’s daughter and gave her a dollar and started talking to her. The man, who was sitting near the playground, was gone by the time officers arrived. 

A fawn got stuck in a barbed wire fence on College Avenue. 

A concerned citizen called from Three Mile Drive saying that a jet was making weird flight patterns. 

Two intoxicated women were spotted floating down the river on a red floating device at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday. 

A woman was upset with her neighbor’s children for littering in her yard on Cooperative Way. The children threw grapes, potatoes, clothes, and other items into her yard. 

A cranky couple went into a store on U.S. 2 East and asked for more beer, but the caller refused to sell to the intoxicated pair. The couple became upset and began throwing a six pack at the front door of the business. 

A skateboarder went for a ride Monday while holding on to a vehicle on U.S. 93 South.

A Canadian man lost his wallet and passport and contacted Whitefish Police because he wasn’t sure what to do. 

A boat was stranded on the north end of Whitefish Lake Sunday afternoon. 

Officers responded to an out-of-control teenager who was fighting with her mother. 

A woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after arguing with her boyfriend and yelling at their young son Sunday night. 

Kalispell Police received a report of two women who drove off with $45 worth of gas from a location on Third Avenue EN. 

A bicyclist was scolded by police for drinking beer while riding his bike on Ninth Avenue West on Sunday. 

Gunshots were heard on Fifth Avenue WN at around 10:30 p.m. Sunday. 

A man who stayed at a hotel on First Avenue East had a rude awakening Monday morning when he found that his rental car had been broken into and his gun had been stolen. 

A persistent panhandler was reported on Hutton Ranch Road. According to the caller, police had spoken to the man before. 

Some slick thieves siphoned gas from a delivery truck on Second Street East sometime Sunday night.
