Stray goat came to visit, decides to stay

A stray goat appeared on a porch on Tanager Way and has decided to stay, according to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office. The caller said the goat had been there about a week, and so far the reporting party had no luck locating the owner. 

A man walked into a house on Poplar Drive and started the front door on fire late Thursday night. He was arrested for arson. 

Three people were injured when a vehicle and a motorcycle collided at the junction of U.S. 2 and Spring Creek Road on Friday. 

Police responded to an injured horse that had broken through a fence Wednesday morning on Foothill Road. The horse was cut pretty badly from the fence and had a small pony with it. 

Two vehicles were forced off the road by a reckless driver Wednesday in Hungry Horse. 

A group of young people was seen drinking and jumping off of the bridge into the river near Nicholson Loop on Wednesday evening. 

A Bigfork man called to report a fraud when he noticed two new cellphone numbers on his bill.

Some medication and a ring were reported stolen from a location on Reserve Place. The ring was later located by a friend. 

Youths were littering into the river near Nicholson Drive. 

A person on West Cottonwood Drive reported receiving threatening phone calls from someone claiming to be with the IRS. 

Animal cruelty was reported when a person noticed a baby pit bull with apparent bruises on it at an apartment building. 

A visitor to the area requested the number of the health department about the smoke in the air from fires in Washington state. 

Two females were reported fighting and pulling each other’s hair at a location on U.S. 2 East on Thursday.

A caller reported hearing a mountain lion “meowing” around 10 p.m. Thursday night on Trillium Way. 

A man with dreadlocks attempted to steal shampoo from a business at Third Avenue East North on Friday. 

Kalispell Police responded to an indecent exposure call Thursday at Fifth Avenue West North. The reporting party said that a man was sitting outside a church near a playground, watching pornography on his cellphone. When police arrived, no signs of lewd acts were going on. 

A man entered a business on Third Avenue East North late Thursday night in his underwear with blood covering his face and hands. He was taken to the emergency room. 

A 25-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the leg Friday afternoon on U.S. 2 East. 

Someone found a cut-off monitoring bracelet on First Avenue East on Friday. 

A man with a tripod and video camera was reported on North Main Street on Friday. Multiple parties asked him to leave because they believed he was monitoring a nearby bank. Police later spoke to the man, who was looking to catch a politician on tape. 

An extremely intoxicated woman entered an office on Liberty Street and claimed to be kidnapped, and also said that she had just been released from jail. 

A physical fight between two minors was reported; their parents were notified. 

A group of skaters was harassing customers at a local water park by blocking the road and flipping people off. 

An extremely intoxicated man reportedly stole a boy’s bike from Wisconsin Avenue on Wednesday night, according to the Whitefish Police Department. The boy later found his bike a block away from home. 

Columbia Falls Police responded to Second Avenue East North after a 6-year-old child was bitten by a dog Thursday. 

A dogfight occurred while a woman was walking her dog on Riverwood Lane and a spaniel-type dog ran out and attacked her dog.
