Charles and Shirley Marvin

Charles and Shirley Marvin of Kalispell celebrated their 60th anniversary at a family barbecue at their home on Airport Road. The event was hosted by their children.

The couple were married July 3, 1954, at St. Ann’s in Somers.

They raised nine sons. Charlie was a barber, had a tie mill, farmed and cut Christmas trees. Shirley helped with all that work, plus grew all the vegetables and fruit for their family.

Their children are Ron and Robin of Kalispell, Clay and Lori of Lodi, Calif., Shawn and Lora of Kalispell, Ken and LeAnn of Kalispell, Loren and Jamie of Sparks, Nev., Zeno and Liz of Hermiston, Ore., Matt and Lori of Kalispell, Chuck and Anne of Missoula, and Mike and Amy of Spokane.

The Marvins have 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
