Diane Marie (Harris) Bebee, 64

| July 24, 2014 7:53 PM

Diane Marie (Harris) Bebee passed away at her home in Kalispell, after a brave battle with cancer, on Friday, July 18, 2014, at the age of 64.

She was born March 20, 1950 in Columbus, Georgia to Richard and Dorothy Harris.

On Aug. 8, 1970, Diane married the love of her life, Loren K. Bebee. Her passing comes just short of their 44th wedding anniversary.

Diane attended Mountlake Terrace High School in Washington, and later graduated from Arizona State University with an elementary education teaching degree. Through different seasons of life Diane worked as an educator, a stay-at-home mom, a professional seamstress, various retail and customer service positions, and most recently as the office manager and events coordinator at the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce. Diane loved working with and meeting people and always put her heart and soul into whatever she was doing, and consistently exceeded expectations.

Diane enjoyed working with youth throughout her life. Whether in a formal class setting, through youth ministry alongside her husband or volunteer community projects, she gave freely of herself and was known to many simply as “Mom.”

Diane’s creativity and enjoyment of projects knew no end. On days off she could be found sewing, scrapbooking, crafting or getting dirty in the garden. She loved a day of searching out great garage sales or antique shops. One of her greatest joys was just spending time with her grandchildren, who adore her.

Though Diane may be gone in body, her legacy will live on in those who knew and love her. She was the best wife, mom, sister, daughter or friend anyone could ever ask for.

Diane was preceded in passing by her son, Benjamin King Bebee; and grandparents.

She is survived by her husband, Loren K. Bebee of Kalispell; son; Sean M. Bebee of Kalispell;  daughter, Liberty A. (Bebee) Shamp of Lynnwood, Washington; grandchildren, Mason Bebee of Kalispell, and Caleb, Bailey, Hadassah and Carter Shamp of Lynnwood; parents, Richard and Dorothy Harris of Mountlake Terrace, Washington; siblings, Richard Harris Jr. of Maltby, Washington, Thomas Harris of Marysville, Washington, and Joy (Harris) Chaudiere of Edmonds, Washington.

Diane has been laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery. A memorial service is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 26 at the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce in Depot Park. It will be a casual, potluck event; attendees will have the opportunity to share if they wish.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.youcaring.com/momsroad to help with the remaining medical bills.
