HAMILTON (AP) — A Darby man faces allegations that another man had to wrestle him to the ground to prevent him from lighting a Molotov cocktail he brought to a bar.

Jack Tony Hatzenbuehler Jr. was arrested early Saturday and appeared before Justice of the Peace Robin Clute on Monday on charges of assault with a weapon and possession of explosives.

Hatzenbuehler was released after posting a $10,000 bond.

Hatzenbuelher had been drinking at the bar in Conner on Friday night, and the bartender said he became verbally aggressive, according to a charging document filed with the court.

When the man left the bar, he said he would be back “locked and loaded,” the bartender told investigators.

Hatzenbuelher returned at about 2 a.m. Saturday, when patron Tom Karoleski said he saw the man get out of his truck carrying a bottle of gas and a lighter.

Karoleski told authorities he had to put Hatzenbuelher into a chokehold and bring him to the ground to prevent him from lighting the explosive.

The charging documents said Hatzenbuehler told an officer he saw people outside the bar smoking marijuana and throwing fireworks into a bonfire.

He allegedly told the officer he planned to throw the bottle of gas into the fire.
