Twins sweep Butte doubleheader

WHITEFISH — The Glacier Twins swept both ends of a home doubleheader on Saturday against the Butte Miners in a Class A American Legion baseball game at Memorial Park.

The Twins scored twice in each the second and fifth innings of the second contest to win 4-0. Austin Robins and Jesse Walburn hit a double and single, respectively to score the last two. Walburn shut down the Miners from the hill in the nightcap, allowing just three hits with three strikeouts in five innings of work.

Glacier edged the Miners in the opener, scoring three runs in the fourth inning and holding off a Butte rally in the seventh to win 3-2. Vincent Smith and Kyler Howke had the only two hits for the Twins as Robims and Colten Parker combined to hold Butte to just three hits.

The Twins host Cranbrook for a game at 11:30 today and play Kalispell A on Tuesday.
