Residence turning into 'flop house'

The owner of a home on East Reserve Drive called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office Sunday asking for assistance in getting people removed from the home. The caller said the residence had become a “flop house” and people were even living in a storage shed on the property.

A Lidstrom Road resident woke up Sunday to find four llamas in his yard. The man said he had never seen the animals before, and their owner was eventually located.

A Dawn Drive resident reported that her son-in-law took her vehicle and was refusing to return it.

There was a report of a man passed out along a guardrail on U.S. 2 just west of the McGregor Lake Lodge. The man was taken to a fishing access site and told to stay off the highway.

There was a report of a dog killing some ducklings that were in a cage at a Corbett Lane property in Coram.

A person calling from Jensen Road near Columbia Falls reported that 15 horses broke through a fence and were loose in the neighborhood. The horses were eventually rounded up.

A woman calling from the Olney area reported finding a mysterious note and some belongings at a campground over the Memorial Day weekend. The noted was written by a man who said he was going to camp near the Stillwater River and be back in a week. The woman returned on Sunday and the note and belongings were still there. 

A woman called from a Marvins Way residence to report that her husband had been strangling and hitting her. The husband was arrested for partner-family member assault.

Sunday night, there was a report of a man with no shoes lying on the side of Canyon Road.

A man calling from Old Griz Trail in the Bigfork area wanted assistance with a neighbor who built a fence across the reporting party’s driveway. It was the latest development in an ongoing dispute over an easement.

 

Early Sunday, just before 1 a.m., a Kalispell Police officer stopped three male pedestrians on North Meridian Road and made them return a campaign sign they had stolen from a yard.

There was a report of a vehicle being egged on Eider Drive.

A woman staying at a hotel on U.S. 93 South reported that her luggage and clothing had been stolen by a man.

A person calling from a Fifth Avenue West residence requested assistance in getting a disorderly man removed from the house. The man agreed to leave on his own.

There was a report of people living in a tent on Flathead Valley Community College property. College officials requested that they be removed from the property.

Both sides of a vehicle were scratched by keys while parked in the Hutton Ranch Road area.

A woman calling from East Idaho Street reported that a woman she has a history of conflict with pulled up to the reporting party, threw a pop can at her and screamed obscenities.

Monday, there was a report of a property being vandalized on Airport Road. The perpetrator destroyed a bunch of toys in the back  yard, took ice cream out of a freezer and spread it across the yard, tore down a no trespassing sign and poured gasoline all over it.

There was a report of a woman stealing items from a hotel room on U.S. 93 South.

 

After a traffic stop on Talbot Road Sunday, Columbia Falls Police let a man with a warrant go with just a citation because the county jail was overcrowded.

An officer assisted with an unruly teenage girl who was refusing to follow her guardians’ instructions at a location on Sixth Street West.

After a traffic stop on Ninth Street West, a man was arrested for drunk driving.
