MISSOULA — The Missoula Mavericks ended their contest early against Kalispell in a Class AA American Legion baseball game on Wednesday, scoring six runs in the last three innings to beat the Lakers 14-4 in eight innings.

The Lakers had rallied for four runs in the fifth inning, cutting into an 8-0 hole they fell into after the third.

But, the rally was short lived. The Mavericks scored five runs in the sixth and another in the eighth to end the game early on the 10-run rule.

Levi Brenneman was 2 for 4 from the plate to lead the Lakers. Adam Frandsen was 1 for 4 with a triple.

The Lakers have a chance to get the game back soon, hosting Missoula in a nine-inning conference contest on Sunday at Griffin Field.
