Hamilton man, 18, arrested after graduation gun threat

 HAMILTON  (AP) — An 18-year-old Hamilton man is facing a felony intimidation charge after reportedly threatening to bring a gun to Hamilton High School’s graduation and shoot students.

Adam Michael Chambers appeared in Justice Court on Monday. He remained jailed Wednesday in lieu of $250,000 bail. Chambers is scheduled to enter a plea in District Court in two weeks.

The Ravalli County sheriff’s office received a report at 1 p.m. Sunday that Chambers had threatened to bring an assault rifle to graduation and kill students.

Officers located Chambers. Charging documents say he told officers he had been depressed for months, had an “extreme hatred” for the students at Hamilton High and sometimes felt “the need to murder them all.”

Graduation took place as planned on Sunday afternoon.
