The Hit Men to perform in Whitefish for two memorable nights

| June 5, 2014 9:44 AM

The Whitefish Theatre Co. presents a special night of music at the O’Shaughnessy Center with The Hit Men, comprised of original members of the Four Seasons, on June 13-14 at 7:30 p.m. both nights.

The Hit Men are a supergroup of musicians, vocalists, and composers. Among the group are original members of the Four Seasons who sang with Frankie Valli, and the Shondells who sang with Tommy James, as well as the original band members in the Critters.  Playing music that transcends generations, they sing the greatest hits of the 1960s, ‘70s and ‘80s.

Members of The Hit Men performed and recorded songs like “Oh, What A Night,” “Who Loves You,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” “Workin’ My Way Back to You,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Sherry” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry.”

They also performed many other memorable solid gold hits that they helped make famous, including “Mony, Mony,” “Bad Bad LeRoy Brown,” “Peace Train,” “You’re So Vain” and “Hanky Panky.”  Heralded as the real “Jersey Boys,” recently made famous by the Broadway musical that is based on the Four Seasons, this amazing brotherhood of musicians promises an evening of dancing and sing-alongs.

The Hit Men consist of Lee Shapiro, a keyboardist who was an original member of the Four Seasons and the Shondells, Gerry Polci, another original Four Seasons member who also toured with Barry Manilow, and Jimmy Ryan, the original guitarist and singer with the Critters.  Polci, a drummer, was the lead singer for the hit “Oh, What A Night.”  Additional members of the band include Larry Gates, who has arranged songs for Desmond Child and Janis Ian, and Russ Velazquez who has played with Sting, Carole King, the Ramones, LL Cool J and Paula Abdul.  Collectively, they have performed on over 80 albums, bringing audiences a soundtrack of a lifetime, at the same time sharing behind-the-scenes stories of their years in these mega-hit bands.

Tickets are $30 with reserved seating.  Tickets can be purchased at the box office, 1 Central Ave., Whitefish, or by calling 862-5371.  Box office hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and one hour before performance times.
