Black bears hanging around Whitefish

Whitefish Police got a report Sunday about there being a small black bear in the Shady River Lane area. Then Monday afternoon, there was a report of a large black bear running through traffic in the vicinity of JP Road and U.S. 93 South.

A man calling from Vista Drive reported that his golf clubs were stolen from his unlocked garage.

After a non-injury motor vehicle accident on U.S. 93 South, a person was arrested.

 The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Sunday from a man who said he had been threatened by a group of people at the boat launch at Foy’s Lake.

A Collier Lane resident reported that he woke up to find a strange vehicle on his property and he was concerned that it may have been stolen and dumped there.

There was a report of a wallet being stolen a location on Stoner Loop in Lakeside.

A man calling from Central Avenue in Martin City reported an attempted theft from his vehicle while it was parked near a storage unit.

A man calling from Myers Lane in the Bigfork area reported that someone threw about a dozen eggs onto his driveway.

A First Street West resident in Martin City reported the theft of various children’s toys.

There was a report of a strange man hitting the reporting party’s grandmother at a location on Klondyke Loop in Somers. The man walked off and the grandmother did not require medical attention.

At about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, a man called from a small aluminum boat on Flathead Lake, saying the engine wouldn’t start, he was stranded about two miles away from Bigfork and that he was getting cold. A deputy responded in a boat, located the man and returned him to the lodge he was staying at in Bigfork.

Monday, at about 12:45 a.m., a woman calling from Shady Lane reported that her boyfriend bit her and threw a beer at her. The man was arrested for partner-family member assault.

 Kalispell Police responded to a fight between a teenage girl and boy on Ford Way Sunday morning, and the girl was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center for a mental health evaluation.

There was a report of an intoxicated man repeatedly falling while walking in the area of Fourth Street East.

A woman calling from First Avenue West reported that her estranged husband keeps stalking her, and the man was removed from her church by her pastor.

There was a report of a business being vandalized with graffiti on First Avenue West.

An employee at a hotel on U.S. 93 South requested assistance in getting loud, intoxicated guests removed. One of the men was cited for disorderly conduct.

After getting caught shoplifting at a store on U.S. 93 South, a woman ended up fighting with the manager and employees in the parking lot. The woman was cited for theft and banned from ever returning to the store.

A woman calling from Fourth Avenue West reported a theft of decorative lights from her yard. 

A person called with concerns about five dogs that had been left in a camper in a store parking lot on U.S. 93 North.

There was a report of man and woman yelling at each other about their drug use at a location on Airport Road.

Early Monday, at about 12:30 a.m., there was a report to two intoxicated teenagers attempting to buy beer at a store on U.S. 93 South, and then getting obnoxious with a clerk when they were denied.

A man calling from  a Buttercup Loop residence reported witnessing a man entering his neighbor’s garage and leaving with fishing gear. It was estimated that about $100 worth of tackle was stolen.

There was a report of two teenagers having sex in a vehicle at Woodland Park.

A woman calling from Eighth Avenue West reported that she had been beat up and needed to go to the emergency room, where she was taken by her boyfriend.

A person calling from Third Avenue East North reported a theft of items from a van that occurred about two weeks ago.

A man called Columbia Falls Police from a home on Martha Road Sunday to report that he and his wife left the house after an altercation with his mother-in-law. When they returned to the house they found that it had been ransacked.

There was a report of a dog being stolen from a pickup truck on Nucleus Avenue.

A bartender calling from a Nucleus Avenue bar reported the theft of pickup truck.
