Edith Elaine 'Edee' Truman Neumann, 61
Edith Elaine “Edee” Truman Neumann lived gracefully and sweetly on this earth for 61 years, just three days short of her 62nd birthday, and just as gracefully and sweetly she left us “to be in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” on May 28, 2014. Her final moments on earth were spent at home surrounded by her loving husband and family.
Edee was born May 31, 1952, to Eldon “Duke” and Barbara Truman in Old Rexford, Mont. She graduated from Lincoln County High School in Eureka in 1971.
She attended Warner Pacific College in Oregon and later Northern Montana College in Havre where she met and married her best friend and the love of her life for over 41 years, Harold “Harry” Neumann, who worked as an engineer for Burlington Northern.
After living in Havre for several years where their children, Trent, Kristi and Kevin were born, Harry and Edee moved to Kalispell and settled in Evergreen where they worked side by side in their own machine shop.
Edee had a tremendous sense of adventure. She wasn't content to be just an observer of life, but a participant. As a teenager, she spent many hours flying in small engine planes during her involvement in the Civil Air Patrol. She loved running, horseback riding, hiking and traveling. At any opportunity, she was ready to set aside her tasks for the day and go for a drive with Harry, meet her children for ice cream, or sit and chat with friends and family.
Family was the most important part of Edee’s life. She loved being a wife, a mother, a mother-in-law and a grandmother. With the birth of each grandchild, Edee was absolutely overjoyed. In her eyes, her children and grandchildren could do no wrong, and she enjoyed every second with them. Her husband Harry was her reason for being; everyone remembers the way she always looked at him, with such tender love and devotion.
No words can describe the beautiful person that Edee Neumann was. Our “Sweetie” had a rare sweetness about her. She was a kind and generous spirit, yet she was unbelievably strong and brave. As a sister noted, she was a confidant, an encourager and a great supporter. She was full of compassion. She loved people with everything she had. She was the “glue” of our family, somehow knitting, in her sweet and gentle way, everyone closer together. She loved her family unconditionally and with all the great love God had given her when He made her beautiful soul. Edee lived out her faith in her life, clinging to the Lord and steadily and truly walking next to her Savior. She personally touched many lives, reminding them of the sweet, precious love of Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eldon “Duke” Truman.
She is survived by her husband, Harry; her mother, Barbara; her son, Trent, and wife, Becky; her daughter, Kristi; her son, Kevin, and wife, Dawnae; her sisters, Gay Plympton, Jane Sleeper and Pam Hutton; her brother, Roy Truman; and her grandchildren, Jaron, Isaac, Lulu, Selah, Sophia, Isabelle and Madeleine.
“Lord Jesus, tell Edee we love her. Please tell her that we miss her so much, and we look forward to that great and glorious day when we see her again in Your presence and in the beauty of heaven.”
Edee Neumann was laid to rest in Tobacco Valley Cemetery in Eureka on June 3 after a service held at Faith Covenant Church in Kalispell. Our deepest gratitude to those who assisted with the funeral service and luncheon. Please feel encouraged to share memories with the family at ponder@centurytel.net.
