School superintendent steamed at venting team

A school superintendent contacted the Flathead County Sheriff to report several suspended students were venting their anger at him by posting information about him on social media sites, including about his vehicle, and saying they were going to get payback for him kicking them out of school. He was advised to contact the children’s parents and to provide the information to Flathead Youth Court.

A passerby picked up a bag on Oregon Street and discovered drug paraphernalia and license plates inside. The suspected owner reportedly has a $30,000 arrest warrant out of probation and parole and is a known drug offender.

A Reuters reporter calling for information on the Plum Creek fire refused to take no for an answer and “demanded we have someone call her,” according to a dispatcher.

A woman was arrested, a man arrested and jailed, a vehicle towed and a pit bull impounded at the animal shelter following a traffic stop on U.S. 2 East.


A bidder contacted Kalispell Police after buying a suitcase from a storage auction and discovering “a bunch of funny-looking foil packets” in the luggage. The bidder was concerned they might be drugs. An officer reported the foil was empty.


Several wood piles were lit for fire training Wednesday in the Little Bitterroot Lake area for the Boorman Initial Attack Engine Academy. The planned ignitions resulted in smoke in the air throughout the area.
