Epperly aids sweep, girls' split

SHERIDAN, Wyo. — Montana topped Wyoming 105-103 in a high scoring affair in the first of two games in the Montana-Wyoming All-Star Basketball Challenge at Sheridan College’s Golden Dome.

Glacier’s Evan Epperly scored nine points and Bigfork’s Christian Evans six in the contest. Bozeman’s Oliver Carr led all scorers with 23 points.

SHERIDAN, Wyo. — Fairfield’s Jill Barta hit a 3-pointer in the closing seconds to send the Montana women to a victory over Wyoming.

Barta scored 19 points to lead the Treasure State squad. Glacier’s Cassi Hashley scored 10.

BILLINGS — Montana missed four free throws in the final minute and couldn’t keep up in overtime, falling on the second day of the All-Star Challenge.

The Wyoming all-stars outscored Montana 17-11 in the overtime session to pull out the victory and earn a split in the series. Glacier’s Cassi Hashley finished with four points for Montana.
