Barbara Gay 'Snooks' Tidwell, 80

Barbara Gay "Snooks" Tidwell, 80, of Kalispell, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Care Center in Kalispell.

She was born Feb. 14, 1934, in Upton, Wyo., to Fred and Angeline (Glassie) Bock.

She married her first love, Duke, when she was 18 years old. They lived in old Rexford with her younger siblings and her children were added to the family soon thereafter. Barb and Duke moved to the West Kootenai with their children after Duke's mother passed away.

Barb was very active in church, letting her faith and her love for God touch all the people she met. She enjoyed family above all else, but also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, ceramics, fishing and many other activities. Barb worked as a nanny in her teens, and also spent time working at Fewkes General Store and Home Health.

She was preceded in death by four husbands, Eldon “Duke” Truman, Lester Truman, Chester Meeks and John Tidwell; daughter, Edith Neumann; a brother, Buster Bock; and a sister, Val Clarke.

Survivors include her children, Gay Plympton and Steve, Roy Truman and Susan, and Pam Hutton and Dave, all of Kalispell, and Jane Sleeper and Steve of Fallon, Nev.; son-in-law, Harry Neumann, of Kalispell; grandchildren, Trent, Kristy, Kevin, Stasia, Courtney, Jake, Katrina, Clint, Miles, David and Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Jaron, Isaac, Lexi, Sela, Sophia, Isabelle, Madeline, Carson, Willow, Abel, Zaniel, Lilyanna and Emmalee; sister Pat White, and brother Mick Bock and Grace of Rexford, and a sister, Micky Varnado of Helena.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 20, at the Church of God in Eureka. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with a reception following the burial.
