Benefit fund set up for crash victims
A benefit fund has been established to cover funeral costs for a family of five people who died in a crash outside Helena last week.
Victims of the Thursday night collision were 29-year-old Matthew Carl Boegli and 30-year-old Crystal Marie Ross, along with children Breighton Paul Boegli, 4, and twins Peighton Charles Boegli and Madison Monie Boegli, 3.
They were identified Monday by Jefferson County Undersheriff Mike Johnson.
Crystal Ross has many relatives — a grandmother and several cousins, aunts and uncles — in the Flathead Valley, according to a family member.
People who want to donate to a funeral and memorial fund for the family may make donations to Valley Bank of Helena, P.O. Box 5269, Helena, MT 59604-9963; phone (406) 495-2402.
Donations should be directed to the benefit for the Ross and Boegli family.
Funeral arrangements still are pending for the family.
The family was driving in a pickup truck west on U.S. 12 on Thursday when the truck collided with a fire engine driven by Three Forks Fire Chief Todd Rummel.
Rummel also died in the fiery crash. A memorial service for Rummel will be Wednesday.
Johnson says it could take weeks to receive the results of autopsies and determine a cause of death.
