The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office was called by a man who claimed to have accidentally yelled at his neighbor’s wife. The woman appeared intoxicated and stared at the man and his wife until he told the drunken woman to leave. It was only after he did this he realized she was not who he thought she was. The caller had texted the woman’s husband, but was concerned the man might still be mad.

Sheriff’s office employees and search and rescue was dispatched to reports of an overturned raft on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River, near the dangerous waters around the Bear Creek tributary. Sheriff Chuck Curry went up in a helicopter to look down on the scene, but luckily, the overturned raft was part of a professional expedition and the rafters were able to right themselves quickly. All rafters were brought home safely, albeit wet.

A man on Gunsite Loop in Kalispell was threatening to take his own life and “teach his brother a lesson.” Deputies found the man had been having family problems but was going to be OK for the night, and the woman who had reported his behavior may have blown his actions out of proportion.

A man on Blondie Court in Kalispell was reportedly attempting to harm himself with a knife in his car. The man claimed he was doing this because he was “in trouble.” He stabbed himself in the arm and was transported to the emergency room in the back of a patrol car.

A Bigfork resident on Three Eagle Lane reported a neighbor had threatened to call the police on him for stealing his things. The caller said he had borrowed things and would leave them on his porch if the other man wanted them, adding the other man had threatened the reporting party with physical violence twice that day.

A Somers resident flagged down a cruiser on Somers Road to let the deputy know he had almost struck a horse standing in the middle of the road. The man tried to return the horse to its owner’s property, but wasn’t sure if it would stay put.


The Whitefish Police Department took a call from a woman who claimed to have made a false sexual assault report against another man a year ago. She said her boyfriend at the time had drugged her and convinced her to file the report because he didn’t like the man. 

The son of a man running for office stated a man, possibly a “Democratic tracker” was trespassing on his property. Officers were unable to locate the man.

A caller reported a man with long black hair was carrying a long bamboo staff and was walking near the river. No additional information was provided, and the modern-day Gandalf was never seen again.


The Lake County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest at 10:29 p.m. for partner family assault of a minor.


Three Rivers EMS responded to a water rescue emergency at 2:22 p.m.


The Columbia Falls Fire Department received a call about a structure fire on Sixth Street East North at 9:28 p.m.


The Kalispell Police Department responded to a man walking in the middle of the road, screaming at cars and at customers at the bar where he had been drinking. He was transported via ambulance and received a citation for trespassing.

A 9-year old boy on 10th Avenue West was having behavioral issues, throwing rocks and refusing to get into his grandmother’s car. He was counseled by officers.

Multiple complaints were received about the men painting new lines on U.S. 93 and Meridian. One caller said the signage was inadequate and it was causing traffic issues.

A man in a Main Street facility fell asleep in a hot tub and didn’t respond to employees. He was heavily intoxicated and was removed from the tub and put in his room.

A car accident on Eighth Avenue East left one man lying on the ground and vehicle parts everywhere. The man on the ground got up, and it appeared as if he was uninjured. 


Fire departments were dispatched Wednesday afternoon to a minor aircraft emergency at Glacier Park International Airport.
