Suspenseful 'Absence of Malice' showing for museum film club
The Museum at Central School in Kalispell will show the 1981 film “Absence of Malice” starring Paul Newman and Sally Field on Monday, June 30, at 7 p.m., as part of its continuing monthly film club, open to all. The screenings are free.
Sally Field stars as a novice reporter at a Miami newspaper, who becomes a pawn in the investigation of a liquor distributor (Paul Newman) suspected of being involved in a mob murder. Scandal and tragedy follow in this Oscar-nominated crime drama directed by Sydney Pollack. Rated PG, 116 minutes.
The rest of the summer offers “Murder on the Orient Express” (1974) on July 28, and “The Sting” (1973) on Aug. 25.
Anyone may attend and there is no charge. Donations will be accepted to help defray the cost of acquiring and showing the films. The movie and popcorn are free, and wine, beer, pop and water will be for sale.
Seating is provided, but people can also bring their own floor pillows, portable chairs, or whatever is comfortable for viewing the film.
