All school districts have board openings
Candidates who want to serve on local school boards have until March 27 to file paperwork for the May 6 election.
Candidates must be registered voters living in the school district they wish to represent. Candidates are required to turn in nomination petitions with a minimum of five signatures from other registered voters.
Every school district in the Flathead Valley has board openings on its board of trustees.
School districts contemplating asking voters for tax levy approval have a deadline of April 11 for the request appear on the May 6 election ballot.
Following is a list of area school district board openings, trustees whose terms will expire and contact information.
Bigfork
Three openings, all three-year terms.
Expiring terms: Doug Fraley, K-12; Paul Sandry, K-12; and Dave Carlson, high school representing the Swan River district.
