Flathead, Glacier battle Friday in play-in games
The third set of crosstown basketball games this season will be Friday night at Glacier High School.
Flathead and Glacier boys and girls teams will square off in state tournament play-in games.
The Bravettes face the Wolfpack at 6 p.m. followed by the Braves-Wolfpack boys game at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.
The cost is $6 for adults or $4 for students. No season passes will be accepted since these are Montana High School Association playoff games.
The winners of Friday’s games advance to the Class AA State Tournament March 13-15 in Billings.
The Bravettes take a 5-15 overall record (2-10 in conference play) into Friday’s game against the Wolfpack girls (14-6, 8-4). The Bravettes are seeded seventh and the Wolfpack third in Western AA.
The No. 4 Wolfpack boys (10-10, 6-6) host the No. 5 Flathead Braves (8-12, 4-8) in the second game Friday.
Both Glacier teams swept regular-season games against Flathead teams. The Glacier girls won 60-52 and 66-42. The Wolfpack boys defeated Flathead 62-47 and 64-44.
During the seven-year crosstown series, the Wolfpack boys hold an 11-5 advantage; the Wolfpack girls have an 11-3 edge.
