Two fugitives from Flathead County captured after a standoff with law enforcement in the Spokane Valley apparently made their escape from the Flathead in a stolen vehicle.

Bonnie Ulrick, 37, of Columbia Falls, and Eric Heil, 32, of Kalispell allegedly had driven a 2014 Jeep Compass stolen from Green Nissan in Evergreen to Washington before being tracked to a Motel 6 in Spokane Valley.

A dispatch log indicates the vehicle was first reported stolen by Washington State Police. A representative from the dealership called about eight minutes later to report the theft.

Police took possession of the vehicle after the multi-hour standoff in the early morning hours of Tuesday. The standoff ended when Ulrick was shot in the hand after allegedly sticking a pistol out a window and firing at a SWAT team.
